The Department of Nursing Foundation, Narayan Nursing College, Gopal Narayan Singh University, Jamuhar, successfully observed World Hepatitis Day 2026 under the global theme “Let’s Break it Down” by organizing an impactful Community Health Outreach Programme on 28 July 2026 at Rajkiyakrit High Government School, Jamuhar, Rohtas.
This initiative was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr. K. Latha, Dean-cum-Principal, and Prof. Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Vice Principal, whose constant support and leadership played a pivotal role in making the programme a success.
The primary objective of the programme was to educate upper middle school students about hepatitis prevention, importance of vaccination, liver health, personal hygiene, safe food and water practices, and early diagnosis. The outreach activity emphasized creating awareness at the grassroots level to promote healthier lifestyles among young individuals.
The event was thoughtfully designed to be engaging and educational, featuring a series of activities including a pre-test assessment, interactive health teaching sessions, hepatitis awareness presentations, a live handwashing demonstration, a quiz competition, and a post-test assessment to evaluate knowledge gained.
A total of 162 students actively participated, making the programme vibrant and interactive. The initiative was successfully executed by the dedicated efforts of GNM First Year and B.Sc. Nursing II Semester students under the supervision of faculty members from the Department of Nursing Foundation.
