Cervical Cancer Awareness Program for Female Faculty and Students

A cervical cancer health talk program was organized on 12th March 2026 in the auditorium of Gopal Narayan Singh University for female faculty members and students. The primary objective of the program was to create awareness about cervical cancer, its causes, prevention, early detection, and management.

Approximately 150 female students from B.Sc Nursing and GNM actively participated in the session. The program commenced with a welcome address, followed by an informative lecture delivered by a healthcare professional. The speaker provided detailed insights into cervical cancer, with special emphasis on its major cause, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection.

The session covered common symptoms such as abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and unusual discharge. The importance of regular screening methods like Pap smear tests and HPV testing was strongly emphasized. Preventive measures, including personal hygiene, safe health practices, and HPV vaccination, were also discussed.

The session was interactive, with students enthusiastically participating by asking questions and sharing their perspectives. The program proved to be highly informative and beneficial, enhancing awareness and encouraging the adoption of preventive health practices.
