Prof. Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Vice Principal & Hub Lead, Narayan Nursing College, GNSU, proudly represented Bihar at the ECHO India Mid Term Review of the Cancer Care Bharat (CCB) Program themed “Bridging Gaps: Expanding Access to Cancer Care in India.”
The meeting brought together national leaders, policymakers, academic hubs, and healthcare professionals to review progress and strengthen collaborative efforts in delivering quality cancer care across underserved regions.
During Panel 2 (Partner Experience Sharing), Prof. Dr. Shaveta Sharma highlighted key challenges faced at the hub level, including nurse participation consistency, motivation gaps, language barriers, and content complexity. She also proposed actionable solutions such as:
✔ Collaboration for credit points for participating nurses
✔ Language flexibility as per ECHO protocols
✔ Inclusion of final-year nursing students
✔ Greater focus on practical nursing components in modules
The event reaffirmed the impact of the ECHO model in enhancing knowledge, capacity building, and strengthening cancer care delivery across India. The ECHO Hub Team had worked under the Guidance of Prof. Dr. K. Latha, ECHO Lead Coordinator, with the Hub members Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Hub Lead, Ms. Nikee Minz, Facilitator, Ms. Nandini Bhumij, Coordinator, & Mr. Shivanshu Kumar, IT Support for its efficient function.
