As part of the International Nurses Day Week 2026 celebrations, Narayan Nursing College organized a series of academic, cultural, and awareness activities from 11th to 15th May 2026 under the inspiring theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”
The celebration commenced with a Debate Competition on 11th May 2026 at LT-3 Seminar Hall under the supervision of Prof. M. Sasi, Mr. Saikat Mondal, and Ms. Renu Kumari. The debate topic focused on “Our Nurses Our Future, Empowered Nurses Save Lives based on Education & Service.” A total of 12 students enthusiastically participated, showcasing confidence, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of the evolving role of nurses in healthcare. Winners of the debate competition included Mr. Danish Raza, Mr. Praveen Kumar, Mr. Danish, Ms. Nikeeta, Mr. Bibhesh, and Ms. Shweta Kumari.
On 12th May 2026, students of Narayan Nursing College proudly attended the virtual live telecast of the prestigious Florence Nightingale Award Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, who honoured outstanding nursing professionals from across the nation.
Continuing the celebrations, a Quiz Competition titled “Think, Answer & Inspire” was organized on 13th May 2026 under the guidance of Dr. Nikee Minz, Mr. Shivanshu Kumar, and Mrs. Kavita Philips. Team E – “White Coat Wonders” emerged as winners, while Team B – “Angel in Scrubs” secured the runner-up position.
On 14th May 2026, internship students of GNM and Basic B.Sc. Nursing expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the dedicated staff nurses of Narayan Medical College & Hospital by distributing pens as a token of appreciation for their tireless service, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
The grand concluding celebration was held on 15th May 2026 at LT-03 with great enthusiasm and professional spirit. The event featured Debate and Quiz Competitions, Welcome Song, Lamp Lighting Ceremony, Theme Unfolding, Prize Distribution, and motivational addresses by distinguished guests and dignitaries.
The program was graced by respected university dignitaries including Pro-Chancellor Shri Govind Narayan Singh, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Jagdish Singh, Advisor Dr. M. K. Singh, and Registrar Dr. Alok Pratap Singh. Eminent Chief Guest Ms. Ritu Kumari (Nursing Consultant, BNRC, Patna) and Guest of Honour Ms. Seema Prasad (Nursing Superintendent, NMCH, Jamuhar) inspired students with their valuable insights on dedication, compassion, and professional ethics in nursing practice.
The event was successfully organized by Mr. R. Srinivasan and Ms. Anju Singh of the SNAI Unit under the guidance of Dean cum Principal Prof. Dr. K. Latha and Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Shaveta Sharma. The celebration concluded with prize distribution, a vote of thanks, and the National Anthem, making the International Nurses Day Week 2026 truly memorable and inspiring for all participants.
