Under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr. K. Latha, Dean-cum-Principal, Dr. Shaveta Sharma, Vice Principal, Narayan Nursing College, along with GM Sir and Sandeep Sir of NMCH, Ayushmaan Bharat Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and purpose at Narayan Medical College & Hospital.
The event was organized to raise awareness about the Ayushmaan Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), which aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to economically weaker sections of society. Informative sessions were conducted to educate the public on how to avail benefits of the scheme, including the availability of cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakhs at NMCH for eligible beneficiaries through the Ayushmaan Card.
The initiative saw active participation from the B.Sc Nursing 2nd semester students, namely:
Chandan, Deepesh, Aman, Anunay, Adarsh, Akshit, Vivek, Priya, Lakshmi, Anisha, Anipriya, and Shivani, who engaged the public through interactive awareness drives, one-on-one conversations, and informational distribution.
The students were effectively mentored and supported by the dedicated faculty members:
Ms. Sarita Devi, Mr. Sajjan Patel, Ms. Subhangi Raj, and Ms. Seempy Kumari, who ensured the smooth execution of the event and encouraged student-led learning in a real-world healthcare outreach setting.
The event successfully created awareness among the patients and their attendants in the OPD area, highlighting NMCH’s role in supporting national health initiatives. The dedication of the students and faculty made the event impactful and community-centered.
