World Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar Organized at Narayan Nursing College

The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Narayan Nursing College, Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU), Jamuhar, Rohtas, organized a World Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar on 7 October 2026 at Lecture Theatre (LT-3). The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Nikke Minz, Head of the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, with the participation of approximately 150 students from Nursing, Management Studies, Information Technology, and Engineering.

The awareness session was presented by GNM Second-Year students Sweta Kumari, Pallavi Kumari, Amrita Varma, Nikkee Kumari, and Ankit Kumar, along with M.Sc. Nursing First-Year students Heena Parwez and Nutan Roy. The session focused on breast cancer risk factors, warning signs, preventive measures, breast self-examination, and the importance of early detection.

Prof. Dr. K. Latha, Dean-cum-Principal, Narayan Nursing College, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of breast cancer awareness, timely medical consultation, and early intervention. She highlighted the role of education and awareness in encouraging individuals to recognize warning signs and seek appropriate medical guidance.

The seminar provided an opportunity for students from different academic disciplines to enhance their understanding of breast cancer and the significance of preventive healthcare. It also encouraged participants to disseminate accurate health information and promote awareness within their families and communities.

The programme concluded with a strong message highlighting the importance of awareness, early detection, and timely medical intervention in the fight against breast cancer.
